M.Krishnaveni, M. Sabari, V. Eswari, G.Silpavathi, V.Silambarasan, R.  Senthil kumar
Abstract
Antioxidants defend against free radicals and free radical induced damage. The plants such as Azadirachta indica, Santalum album, Casuarina equisetifolia, Annona squamosa, Wrightia tinctoria, Ailanthus excelsa, Tectona grandis, Millettia pinnata, Tamarindus indica, Mangifera indica, Syzygium cumini, Morinda pubescens, Albizia amara, Prosopis juliflora, Ficus religiosa were selected for the present study. Higher phenolics, flavonoid, content was observed in most of the plants studied. Tectona grandis showed highest metal chelating activity. Whereas,  total antioxidant activity, reducing power activity, nitric oxide scavenging activity, hydrogen peroxide scavenging activity was found to be moderate with all the plants studied from the experimental site

Abstract
The aim of present study is to isolate and identify essential oils by hydro distillation method from flower head of Sphaeranthus indicus Linn and evaluates their antimicrobial activity against pathogenic bacteria through disc diffusion method. The essential oil was obtained from by hydro distillation method using Clevenger type apparatus. Essential oils Isolate were identified by GC–MS and determine their in vitro antimicrobial activity against pathogenic bacteria through agar plate method. Twenty three bioactive ingredients with different percentage were identified based on GC retention time. The predominant 5 bioactive ingredients with high percentage in essential oil were identified as 10-ep-γ eudesmol, 2,5-dimethoxy-p-cymene,Longifoene,Selin 11-en-4α-ol, 2 pentadecanone, 6,10,14,tri methyl. Essential oils isolated by hydro distillation were used for the study of antimicrobial activity against pathogenic resistance (gram positive and gram negative). Almost all bacterial strains give activity against the employed essential oils at different concentrations. Therefore, the obtained results show that essential oils could be needed further extensive biological study and their mechanism of action

Abstract
HER2 is an established therapeutic target primarily in breast, gastric and many other type of cancers. Its Inhibition process suggests that, it could be a promising target for cancer. Therefore the main aim of the study is to identify the novel inhibitors for HER2 from the natural compounds present  in Cayratia trifolia. The natural compounds were selected from GC-MS analysis of ethanolic extract of Cayratia trifolia. Molecular docking studies were done to find the inhibitory activity angainst HER2 and ADME properties also were predicted to find pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of the selected ligands. The docking analysis revealed that, the natural compounds of Ethyl Oleate, 4,8,12,16-Tetramethylheptadecan-4-olide and Heptacosanol has high inhibitory activities when compared with selected FDA approved drug and the ADME properties also were acceptable range. Thus, based on the results it can be concluded that these natural compounds may act as novel inhibitors for HER2 and its lead to drug development for variety of cancers.

Abstract
Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder and it is one of the free radical mediated diseases characterized by hyperglycemia. Postprandial hyperglycemia caused by the hydrolysis of carbohydrates by pancreatic enzymes, α-amylase and intestinal α-glucosidase is a severe condition and inhibition of these enzymes is an efficient way in the management of diabetes mellitus. Among the various anti-diabetic therapeutic approaches one major strategy is reducing gastrointestinal absorption of glucose by inhibition of carbohydrate metabolizing enzymes alpha-amylase and alpha-glucosidase. In the present study the ethanolic extract of Macrotyloma uniflorum leaves have been assessed for the inhibition of alpha-amylase and alpha-glucosidase, additionally in vitro antioxidant analysis of ethanolic leaf extract of M. uniflorum was performed by 1,1-diphenyl-2-picryl hydroxyl (DPPH), 2,2’ azinobis-3 ethylbenzothiozoline-6 sulfonic acid (ABTS+) cation decolourization test, hydroxyl radical (OH.), hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), nitric oxide radical (NO), superoxide radical scavenging assays and also metal chelating activity, ferric reducing antioxidant power assay (FRAP) and reducing power assay. Saturation in the enzyme inhibition and free radical scavenging activity has been attained in concentration dependent manner. This study indicates significant alpha-amylase and alpha-glucosidase inhibition, free radical scavenging potential of M. uniflorum leaves which can be exploited for the treatment of various free radical mediated diseases like diabetes mellitus

5. Attitudes and Perceptions of the Emirates Women Towards Facial Skin Care Products and Herbal Cosmetics
Heyam Ali, Rasha Saad, Ahmed Ahmed, Babiker El-Haj
Abstract
The objectives of this study were: To examine Attitudes and behaviour of emirates women related to facial skin care products. To discover the similarities and differences in the Attitudes and behaviour of young and middle-aged women when using these products. and to discover what kind of attitudes of emirates women have towards facial skin care products containing natural ingredients. The study was conducted by using quantitative research method. Data was collected through a designed questionnaire and was distributed by conducting an email survey or distribution to customers in shopping centers & pharmacies in different districts in United Arab Emirates ( Dubai, Sharjah, Fujairah, Ras-Keimah and Abu-Dubai).   The questionnaire was designed addressing women who are young (20 to 35) and middle-aged (40 to 50) years old women.  All together, 138 women who fit the two age categories, in this study. Only 100 responded and answered the research questionnaire. The results indicated that women in the two age categories were rather similar in terms of attitudes and behaviour related to facial skin care products. However, some differences were also found for example in the decision-making process. Regarding the attitudes toward the use of natural ingredients in facial skin care products, differences were found between different demographic groups. For example, women who had children were more favorable toward the use of natural ingredients than women who did not have children. In sum, the objectives of this study were met well. Although existing literature suggests that factors such as age, education & financial status have an impact on attitudes and behaviour, toward the use of facial skin care products & the herbal ones. The results showed that it does not have that big impact.  However, these findings of this study can definitely benefit the case companies of skin care products in UAE in their business actions

6. Preparation and Evaluation of Nano-Structured Lipid Carriers of Azelaic Acid in Topical Formulation (Hydrogel)
Pathak Prithu,  Pathak A. K.
Abstract
To prepare a hydrogel nanosystem  to deliver Azelaic Acid for topical treatment.A hydrogel system consisting of nanostructured lipid carriers (NLCs) of azelaic acid was prepared by phase separation method. Characterization was done for morphology, particle size, zeta potential, percent encapsulation efficiency and in vitro release rate data. Two formulations gave promising results on the basis of skin permeation profile when compared with marketed formulation
